4 Thefts From Cars Reported in Novi

Several items were stolen from four cars in Novi from Dec. 1-3, according to Novi crime reports.

At Mercedes Benz of Novi, an employee reported that all four tires and rims were stolen off of a 2012 Mercedes Benz C300 over the weekend of Dec. 1-3, according to a police report. The tires and rims are valued at $5,500. There was no other damage to the car autel code reader. The employee said this is the fourth incident of theft from the dealer in the past six months, the report said. The employee said this was the only new car in the lot without wheel locks installed.

A woman reported that several items were stolen from her car while it was parked outside 29 Park on Main Street from 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 to 2 a.m. on Dec. 2, according to a police report. When the woman left the club that night, she got back into her car and went home. It was not until the next day that she realized her car had been broken into and items were taken, the report said. There was no damage to the exterior of the car MaxiVideo MV201 with 8.5mm Model, but there was slight damage to the interior of the driver's door, the report said. The items stolen included a peacoat, shoes, textbooks and a Kindle, the report said.

A man reported that several electronic items were stolen from his car when it was parked behind Best Buy on Haggerty Road from 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 to 12:10 a.m. on Dec. 3, according to a police report. The man said he parked behind the store to wait for his friend to leave work. The two then went to a local restaurant and left the car behind, which was locked, the report said. When the man returned, he noticed the driver side rear window was smashed out, the report said. The man's laptop, stereo and audio amplifiers were taken, the report said. No other cars were parked nearby.

A different male reported that his iPhone and $460 in cash were stolen from his car while it was parked at Total Sports on Grand River Avenue on Dec. 3, according to a police report auto code readers. The man had his car parked there from 9:45 to 11:145 p.m. and said he may have left it unlocked, the report said. When he returned to the car, he found it had been gone through and that his items were missing from the center console, the report said.
