Ways to Reset the Check Engine on a 2002 Infinti Qx4

    Turn the engine off and place the Infiniti's transmission in park. Apply the parking brake Auto diagnostic tool. Turn the ignition towards the "ON" position, but do not begin the engine.

    Connect the scan tool's data cable towards the Infiniti's diagnostic information port positioned underneath the driver's side dashboard, just above the pedals.

    Power the scan tool on and select "ECM" from the main menu. Select "codes" and then select "clear all codes." Unplug the Auto diagnostics and power it off.

    Start the engine and verify that the examine engine light is no longer illuminated.
